Platforms to Get Your Book Out There

Books are available on so many platforms these days e.g. Amazon, Kobo Smashwords etc. So which one do you choose? Do you sell your book on all these sites, or do you only put it on certain ones?
Well, I'm going to discuss each site with you and give you some suggestions.
Amazon
Now, Amazon is by far the biggest supplier of books. You can self-publish your book through Kindle Direct Publishing on Amazon. The website allows you to keep up to 70% of royalties and is free. Amazon also reaches million of readers from around the world, so anyone can buy your book. You can also sell ebook and paperback formats through Amazon.

Barnes and Noble/NOOK
Barnes and Noble is an American bookseller, so can help bring sales to you from America. NOOK Press is Barnes and Noble's publishing company and is free to use. It also gives you the chance to "write, edit and format your manuscript in one place". Like Amazon, NOOK also allows you to sell ebook and paperback formats through Barnes and Noble.

Kobo
Kobo's publishing company is called Kobo Writing Life, and you can publish your book in five easy steps. You can reach millions of readers in over 190 countries and you get to keep all the rights to your book. Kobo also have partnerships around the globe with booksellers, big and small.

iBooks
You can publish your book through Apple iBooks Store. You can also use iBooks Author for free to create your book and add text and colour. iBooks is owned by Apple and allows you to read ebooks through electronics such as iPhones and iPads. and other iOS devices. Your books will be available around the world and

Smashwords
Smashwords is the "world's largest ebook distributor for self-published authors and small independent presses". It also allows you to reach different retailers and libraries too. The website reaches people around the world and takes the strain off you when it comes to self-publishing.
