We've already spoken about how important a cover is to making someone pick up your book and used some good and bad examples. If you're a new author though and aren't sure where to even start looking for a cover designer to bring your vision to life, then don't panic.
Below are juat a few cover design companies that I've come across that create covers that make readers pick up a book. There are lots out there, so it's worth a lengthy search to find a cover design company that suits your needs.
Mae I Design not only design beautiful, sexy covers, but also do custom photo-shoots for covers too. This can be pricey, but is a good option if you want to capture the perfect picture to represent a scene from your book. Owner, Regina Wamba, has designed covers for some bestselling authors including Jessica Sorensen, L.P. Dover, Alessandra Torre, Gail McHugh, and more.
Owned by Sofie Hartley, Hart & Bailey Design Co. is a company that not only design covers, but create author branding, promotional images, and website design too. The company also offer premade cover designs at very good prices, which is good for a first time author who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on their first cover.
This company have designed covers for a lot of authors including H.M. Ward, Anna Todd and Denise Grover Swank. They are maybe a little pricey for a first time author, but they do premade covers for a much lower price. They also design covers for a lot of different genres, so you should be able be able to find the perfect cover to suit your book.
Bookfly Design don't only offer book cover designs, but also do editing too. The design covers for any genre and have been quoted as being "Creative, visionary, extremely professional and so great to work with..." from Katy Evans. Bookfly Design are a bit pricey and don't offer premade covers, but they work with you to create your vision for your cover.
